Candy Hansen,
Director,
Fresno , California
Candy
Hansen has served as the Center for International
Trade Development Director since it first
opened as the Export Center in 1989. She
has been instrumental in developing the
Center into the leading resource for Central
Valley businesses in need of trade assistance.
A founding member of the San Joaquin Valley
International Trade Association, she is
always searching for new ways to provide
training and networking opportunities for
companies involved with importing or exporting.
Her prior experience in exporting citrus,
pharmaceuticals, and educational services
has proved particularly helpful to clients,
as she understands the unique challenges
and opportunities they face. Under her
leadership, the office has received numerous
awards in international trade and international
business, including the prestigious President
's E Award for Excellence in Exporting
in 2001.

Alicia
Rios, International Trade Specialist
Fresno,
California
A
graduate of California State University,
Fresno, Alicia joined the Fresno CITD
office in 1999. As an International Trade
Specialist, she works with clients to
find solutions to their exporting and
importing questions. Fluent in Spanish,
she has led multiple trade missions to
Mexico. In addition, Alicia coordinates
special events, seminars and training sessions
for the CITD, and provides Spanish translation
services. She has represented the office
at numerous functions, including the recent
acceptance of the Center’s Project
of the Year Award from the University Economic
Development Association in Orlando.

Independent Consultants |
Each year, a unique
group of students specializing in international
trade join the staff for a one-year or
two-year internship. These positions are
highly sought after, and attract top-level
students. Interns conduct research, maintain
databases, and provide support services
for local training events and seminars.
More than 55 individuals have participated
in the program since 1990. Former interns
have gone on to positions with Siemens,
American Express, Pelco, PeopleSoft, and
Dole-Japan. |
